AZBHOS Behavioral Health Strategies

AZBHOS is a family agency working to put “families first”. Families are big, small, extended, nuclear, multi-generational, with one parent, two parents, same sex and grandparents. We live under one roof or many. A family can be as temporary as a few weeks, as permanent as forever. We become part of a family by birth, adoption, marriage, or from a desire for mutual support. As family members, we nurture, protect, and influence each other. Families are dynamic and are cultures unto themselves, with different values and unique ways of realizing dreams. Together, our families become the source of our rich cultural heritage and spiritual diversity. Each family has strengths and qualities that flow from individual members and from the family as a unit. Our families create neighborhoods, communities, states, nations and this agency. Our commitment is to help families thrive and cultivate their legacies as protectors and nurturers. We have an important message on our Public Awareness page. We are dedicated to helping people, help people.

Our Process

How It Works

MEN RECOVERY

Helping Men Recover is the first gender-responsive, trauma-informed treatment program for men. The materials are grounded in research, theory, and clinical practice. This curriculum addresses what is often missing in prevailing treatment models: an understanding of the impact of male socialization on the recovery process.

WOMEN RECOVERY

This innovative, evidence-based program integrates theories of women’s psychological development, trauma, and addiction to meet the needs of women with addictive disorders. This is one of the first gender-specific treatment programs for women.

PROTECTION & SAFETY

Interactive groups and individual therapy sessions designed to treat co-occurring conditions led by licensed therapists. There are 100 coping skills taught in Seeking Safety and every skill applies to both trauma and addiction simultaneously.

PEER SUPPORT SERVICES

Peer Support services can effectively extend the reach of treatment beyond the clinical setting into the everyday environment of those seeking a successful, sustained recovery process. AZBHOS’ Peer Support Specialists are integrated into all aspects of the therapeutic programming which includes and not limited to individual interventions and group facilitation. Peer Support is designed to help improve ones’s quality of life, patient engagement accountability, self-management, and increase the overall mental, behavioral, emotional and physical well being . Our Peer Support staff are people who have been successful in the recovery process and dedicate their lives to help others experiencing similar situations. We strongly believe that through shared understanding, respect, and mutual empowerment, We can work together to assist our members in maintaining healthier lifestyle practices, stay engaged in the recovery process and reduce and/or prevent the likelihood of relapse.

Benefits in our treatment program

We strongly believe that helping families, student athletes and individuals motivated to become or maintain being self sufficient is our primary focus. We want to help members learn how to create resumes, continue secondary education, secure good credit, a working car and stable home on their own.

Members will belong to our Pet Therapy program and adopt an animal of their choice to love, care for, train and prepare for public showings. We will have Pet Dates and weekly events where members fellowship with their beloved animals.
